Lovie Jewel Allen 71, of Denton Texas, passed away on August 24, 2020 in Denton, Texas.

Lovie was born in Dallas, Texas to Fred Ezell Jones and Verna Ree Jones on February 27, 1949. She went to school at Douglas High School in Lawton, Oklahoma and attended Cameron University.  She married David Allen on January 20, 1971 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She worked as a telephone operator and a switch provisioning specialist for Verizon for 20 years and later retired in 2004.

Lovie is preceded in death by Reverend Fred E Jones and Verna Ree Jones, and one grandson Ja'Marcus Jones.

She is survived by her husband, David Allen of Denton, Tx., nine children- Jacqueline Willcot (Michael) of Cedar Hill, Tx., Kevin Jones(Francesca) of Duncanville, Tx., Alisa Turner (Daryl) of Mt. Pleasant, Tx., Davina Tomlinson (Darryl) of Lewisville, Tx., Krystal Johnson (Travis) of Tyler, Tx., Revonda Thomas of Dallas,Tx., Sheronda Wilson (Troy) of Keller, Tx., David D. Allen (Ashley) of Mansfield, Tx., Davita Goodall (Rev. William Goodall III) of Denton, her beloved sister, Joyce Candy Bowens (Fuzzy) of Denton, Tx., twenty-two grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Michael Willcot, Daryl Turner, Darryl Tomlinson, Troy Wilson, Travis Johnson and Lamont David.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Khori Jones, Josh Miller, Travis Johnson Jr, Michael Willcot III, Nate Wilson, Daryl Turner Jr, Troy Wilson III, Ashton Allen.

There will be a public viewing on Friday, August 28, 2020 at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  A private funeral service will be held in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 28, 2020. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
