Loyd Agee Lough went to be with our Lord on September 11, 2014 in Denton, Texas. Loyd was born to Samuel V. Lough and Berta Agee Lough on the family farm in Montague Co., Texas on July 25, 1924. Loyd graduated from Saint Jo High School and then served in the US Navy onboard the USS Dorothea L. Dix in the Pacific during World War II. When Loyd returned from the war he married the love of his life Ruth Young in May of 1946 and they were married for 62 beautiful years until Ruth's passing in 2009. Loyd worked for Mobil Pipeline Co. for 38 years and retired in 1985. He was a devout Christian, a loving and caring Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Denton, Texas.
Loyd was preceded in death by his is wife Ruth Young Lough, parents Samuel V. Lough and Berta Agee Lough, sisters, Sally Moore, Ruby Reed, Orelene Laseman, Oleta Reed; brothers, Leo Lough, Julius Lough, Merritt Lough and son-in-law Jim Perry.
Loyd is survived by his daughter Sondra Perry of Grand Prairie, Texas, son Terry Lough and daughter-in-law Donna of Corsicana, Texas, grandson Jason Lough and wife Angie of Midland, Texas, granddaughter Rachel Wilson and husband Dean of Stephenville, Texas, great grandsons Dawson and Cooper Lough of Midland, Texas, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Charles and Gayle Edwards of Forestburg, Texas, as well and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton.
Services will be at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas on Monday, September 15th at 10:00 AM with a 1:30 PM Graveside Service at Dye Mound Cemetery in Montague County, Texas. In lieu of flowers a memorial or donation may be made to your favorite charity.
