Loyd "Pewter" Smith, 89, was born in Ector, TX on July 22, 1924, and went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 10, 2013. Pewter, a lifelong North Texas resident, worked more than 30 years at Texas Instruments before retiring in 1989 as a technical supervisor. He was a member of Denton Presbyterian Church and served the Lord faithfully for many years as a church officer. He was always a gentleman, had a great sense of humor and loved sports.
Visitation will be at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors, 2025 West University in Denton on Monday, August 12th, 5pm. A memorial service will follow at 7pm with Pastors David Wilson and David Clelland officiating. Burial will be Tuesday, August 13th at 10am at Randolph Cemetery in Randolph, Texas.
Pewter is survived by Jackie, his devoted wife of 24 years; her sons Scott Noltie, Honolulu, HI, Fred (Sabryna) Noltie; and grandson Will Noltie, Exeter, MO; his brother Floyd (Mary) Smith of Denison, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
