IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lydia June
Farmer
February 27, 1956 – February 20, 2023
Lydia was born in Dallas, Texas on February 27, 1956 to W.S. and Lavon Crawford. She was the third of five children. In her youth, her family moved around quite often, usually staying in the Denton area. It was because of one of these moves in the sixth grade that she met the young man that would remain faithfully by her side for the remainder of her life.
Danny and LJ (as he often referred to her) were married several years later on April 7, 1974 in Justin, Texas. A few years later they would be blessed with their first child, Christina. Daniel would follow 2 years later, and remain the baby of the family for almost 10 years before Scott and Ashley would arrive only a year and a half apart.
Lydia, or mom as her kids knew her, worked off and on over the years primarily in medical billing. Lydia, Mom, or Mimi to the grandkids loved people, she enjoyed serving whether it was service to friends, family, church, or even strangers she always freely offered her time and energy. She loved her children and grand children above all else, and found joy in their happiness.
Lydia was loved by all who knew her. Her smile and warm heart could make any challenge seem more bearable. In her later life, she was plagued with numerous health issues. In the early evening of February 20, 2023 at home surrounded by those she loved the most, with Loretta Lynn playing in the background, she slipped from this mortal life into eternity.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and a granddaughter. She is survived by Danny, her husband of almost 49 years, her children: Christina (Matt), Daniel (Karen), Scott (Samantha), and Ashley (Justin). She is also survived by 2 brothers and a sister, 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. She was better than any of us deserved, and will be terribly missed, but never forgotten.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 5-7 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas.
