It is with deep sadness we announce Lynda Sue Brown-Dorris of Denton, Texas, passed away September 27, 2018 at the age of 70.

Lynda was born in Denton, Texas in 1948 where she lived out her childhood, graduating from Denton High School in 1966 and then Texas Woman's University in 1970. She began her career as an art teacher in 1970 in Dallas, spending most of her years teaching in Richardson and Flower Mound until her retirement.

She loved art and traveling to see art, and she was a talented artist herself, painting nature scenes of animals and flowers in watercolor. Lynda also loved her dogs. Her poodles, Izzy and Blue, were always either by her side or sitting in her lap. And, she loved the Dallas Cowboys through thick and thin.

But, most importantly to her, she was a mom above all else. She loved her kids and devoted her life to them, always thinking of them first. She was full of energy and life and always laughing. She did things her way with a style only an artist could have. She was full of love. Love for her children, her students and her dogs. And she will be sorely missed.

Lynda is survived by her sons Aaron Brodie (Jeanette) of Denton, TX and Ross Brodie (Elizabeth) of San Diego, CA; grandchildren Logan, Jack and Ella Brodie. She is also survived by her brothers Randy Brown of Lake Kiowa, TX and Philip Brown of Gordonville, TX.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.
