IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lynn Ann
Whitson Carrico
August 24, 1946 – December 4, 2025
Lynn Ann Whitson Carrico, affectionately known as Gran, passed away surrounded by the love she nurtured throughout her life. Born at Flow Hospital in Denton, Texas, Lynn grew into a woman whose creativity, faith, and devotion to family were sewn into every aspect of her life.
Gran is survived by her children, Warren Blair Kepke and Ashley Whitson Wesp; her grandchildren, Olympia Blair Kepke and Joshua Anthony Wesp; and her great-grandchildren Peyton, Sophia, and Lana Wesp. She is also survived by her siblings Skipper Whitson and Deanie Willis. She is preceded in death by her husband Patrick Carrico, her grandson Warren Whitson Kepke, and her sister Jane Stroud.
To know Gran was to know a woman with a vibrant spirit and a gift for turning ordinary materials into extraordinary beauty. She was a true fabric artist, as her daughter, Ashley, would always say. Quilting was her passion, and it was a consistent joy in her life. Her work was featured in three books, and one of her quilts, Blossoms in the B.A., traveled the world, sharing Gran's artistry beyond her friends and family.
Gran loved traveling, loved her family, and loved her faith. She held a special place in her heart for the Christmas season. Her legendary 16-foot Christmas tree was her pride and joy, and each December her home was decked out with decorations that she had collected over the years. Gran never met an ornament she didn't need, and her most anticipated shopping day of the year was the day after Christmas at Dillard's, where she would always find room for "just a few more decorations."
Warm and creative, Gran brought light and laughter into every space she entered. Her memory will continue to shine in the traditions she passed down, the quilts she lovingly crafted, and the countless moments of joy she created for her family and everyone who knew her.
She will be dearly missed, and the loss of Gran will be felt by everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
