Reverend Doctor Marion T. Brooks "Tom", 86, died August 29, 2021, at his home in Lewisville, Texas. He was born July 9, 1935, in Sebree Kentucky, the son of Charlie Lee Brooks and Sudie Francis Scott.
Tom served in the United States Air Force for 4 years, while in service he served in the Korean War. In 1957 after serving his country Tom met Carolyn Sue Knight, fell in love and on August 2, 1958, they got married. They celebrated 63 years of marriage in August. Tom had a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Divinity Degree, and a Doctor of Ministry from the United Theological Seminary. Tom served as a minister in the United Methodist Church for 35 years and loved sharing his passion for the Lord to all who would listen. Tom was a part of the Honda Goldwing Club and traveled all over the country with Carolyn by his side. Tom enjoyed being outside camping, canoeing, white water rafting and doing anything that involved his family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Clarence Brooks, Herman Brooks, and Claude Brooks. Sisters, Geraldine DeBarge, Ethel Wilson, and Edith Townsend. He is survived by his wife, son, Mark Brooks and wife Kim, daughter Tammy Bixler, grandson Charles Atchison and wife Ashley, granddaughter Cristina Crego and husband Geoff, grandson Matthew Brooks and wife Chelsen, Granddaughter Katie Wilkinson, grandson Sean Atchison and 12 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on September 8 th , 2021, from 6-8 PM at the DeBerry Funeral Home located at 2025 W. University Drive, Denton, TX 76201
A service of remembrance will be held on September 9 th , 2021, at 10:00 AM at the DeBerry Funeral Home located at 2025 W. University Drive, Denton, TX 76201
The Burial Site will be at the Dallas-Fort. Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211
