IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Magdalena Cruz
Lozano
July 22, 1929 – December 25, 2022
Magdalena Cruz Lozano peacefully went home to the Lord surrounded by her children on December 25, 2022. She was 93 years old. She was born in Monterrey, Mexico on July 22, 1929, to Maria Cruz Sierra and Francisco Cruz Varocio. She married Sotero Lozano in Monterrey, Mexico on June 16, 1946. They immigrated to Decatur, Texas in 1960 and later re-located to Denton in 1967.
Magdalena was a skilled seamstress and beautician during her younger years in Mexico. In the early seventies, she went back to school to become a licensed vocational nurse. She worked at Denton State School for over 25 years as an LVN. Years after she retired, she was a Foster Grandparent for the Denton Independent School District.
Magdalena knew that the most important thing in life was her relationship with God, her family, and those she loved. She led by example and had the great ability to make everyone around her feel special and loved. She leaves behind the legacy of a devoted family and a host of friends whose lives have been forever touched and changed. Magdalena was always more concerned about those around her than herself. She was always there for her family and loved ones. She has left this world a better place. Her family and friends knew her as a faithful, patient, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and friend. She always sought the best in people, and she possessed an incredibly gentle spirit. She will be greatly missed by all.
Magdalena was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister, Gloria Cruz Sierra, her brother Onesimo Sierra, grandson Michael Lozano, great-grandson Christopher Lozano, and son-in-law David C. White.
She is survived by her sister, Josefina Lozano, her children; John Lozano (Yolanda); Blanca White, Bill Lozano (Debbie); Javier Lozano (Kathy), Frank Lozano (Patricia); and Robert Lozano; grandchildren; Yesenia McCleskey (Brandon), Johnny Lozano, Jr., Monica Hughes (Gary), Gabriel Lozano, Patricia Trowbridge (Ryan), Julio Ramón (Jodi), Praise Voss (Daryl), Becky Flanagan (Stephen), Alex Lozano, Christina Fier (Matt), Marie Sheppard (Andrew); Raquel Lozano, Jennifer Brinkman (Cory), Rocky Lozano (Amy); Monty Lozano, 27 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren, Julian Ramón and many family members in Mexico.
