Malcom Van Tyson Jr., 80, of Corinth, Texas, passed from this life on September 19, 2021. He was born June 29, 1941 in Austin, Texas, to parents Frances Nell Martin and Malcom Van Tyson.

Malcom was raised in Austin, and upon graduating from McCallum High School in 1959, he joined the United States Army. Following a tour of duty in the United States Army, 101 ^st Airborne Division, he pursued a career in insurance. For 32 years he owned and managed United Insurance Brokers.

Malcom married Janet Nevans Odum in Abilene, Texas, June 6, 1980. He was a member of Denton Bible Church, a member of Volunteers in Police Service, coached a softball team, bowled in league play and loved snow skiing. He spent most of his retirement traveling throughout the United States in a motor home with his wife and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Carol Bradley.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife, Janet Tyson; sons, Jeffery Tyson and Kevin Tyson and daughter in law, Carrie Tyson; daughter, Lorri Kitchens and son-in-law, Lance Kitchens. Also, Mike Odum and daughter-in-law, Angela Odum; daughter, Michelle Henderson and son-in-law, Lane Henderson. Included are ten grandchildren, Ashleigh Kitchens; Gavin Kitchens; Terra Hamilton; Aaron Henderson; Amber Henderson; Nevin Odum; Katie Odum; Chloe Tyson; Sophia Tyson; Raegan Sharer; Mallory Sharer and Sam Sharer. Malcom is also survived by his sister , Judy Tyson Griggs Brinlee , brother , Martin Graham Tyson and their loving family of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 30 ^th at 6:00-8:00 at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. A service to celebrate Malcom's life will be on Friday, October 1 ^st at 11:00 AM, at Denton Bible Church in Denton, Texas. Internment to follow at Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
