Mamie Kathryn Parker
June 15, 1941 – June 23, 2025
Mamie Kathryn Parker, 84, of Sanger, TX, went to be with Jesus on Monday, June 23, 2025. She was affectionately called "MawMaw" by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Woodrow Wilson Brown and Madell Sarah (Gibson) Brown, and brother Hugh Brown.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years Stephen J. (Jerry) Parker; siblings: sister Edna Earl (Brown) Maddox and brother Mike Brown; children: Leslie Paul Howie (wife Rhonda), Melissa Neal (husband Bill), Melanie Shults (husband Brent), Gary Parker (wife Jodi); grandchildren: Lesslie Bull (husband Wesley), Corey Howie (wife Taylor), Cheryl Fields (husband Chase), Trey Neal, Sarah Burkhalter (husband Dusty), Jordan Shults (wife Madison), Katie Isom (husband Lane), Jerrod Parker, and Cassie Parker; and great-grandchildren: Eli Bull, Brooklyn Bull, Wyatt Bull, Ellington Bull, Cap Howie, Murphy Howie, L.W. MawMaw absolutely loved being outdoors, finding and nurturing plants and flowers, gardening, spending weekends at Canton, camping, boating, and going on cruises. Years ago, she sewed clothes for her family-creating perfectly tailored outfits without using a pattern. She set the most beautiful tables on holidays and was an excellent cook, utilizing the freshest vegetables from her garden and baking amazing cherry pies. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with family. Until a few weeks ago, she could be spotted riding the lawn mower and taking a trip around the neighborhood in the gator with the family lab Abby in the back seat.
She loved her family fiercely and will be deeply missed, but we know without a doubt she is in a better place and her body and mind are healed from all suffering. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Memorial gifts may be made to First Baptist Church of Bells, TX at fbcbellstx.org
