Manuel Magana, 68, of Sanger, Texas passed away on July 15, 2024, in Sanger surrounded by his family. He was born to Angel and Frances Magana in Ballinger, Texas on October 21, 1955.
Manuel graduated from Ponder High School in 1975 and married Martha Bryan the same year. After graduating he began his welding career at Trinity Industries in Denton TX. After 8 years with Trinity Industries, he went to work as the second welder hired for Peterbilt Motors in Denton, where he worked for 40 years. Manuel and Martha moved to Sanger in 1976 where Manuel lived until his death.
He was a loving father, son and grandfather and a great friend to many. He loved everything Elvis and George Strait. He loved to play golf and be at the lake and travel. He liked watching wrestling back in the day and most recently liked old cowboy movies. He once held the office of Exalted Ruler at Elks Lodge 2862 in Sanger Tx.
He is survived by his daughter, Mendy Echols, and her husband, Jeff of Sanger, Texas. Son, Bryan Magana of Sanger, Texas, sisters, Dolores and her husband Joe Ritz of Denton, Texas, Lydia Jobe of Denton, Texas, and Mary and Chuck Winborn of Alabama, brother Jose "Junior" Magana of Corinth, Texas, grandchildren, Taylor Magana, Christian Razo, and Declan Echols.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister, Blanca Wortman, and grandson, James Colin Echols.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 5PM, until 7PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors.
