Obituary

Marcelino Vera Castillo Jr. passed away in Denton, Texas on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. He was born in San Antonio, Texas to Marcelino and Dionicia Castillo on March 28, 1945. Marcelino proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed western movies and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Mary Helen Salinas Virginia Castillo Guadalupe Valdez and brother, Fernando Castillo.

Visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 12:00PM to 4:00PM on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00PM, Monday, September 29, also at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Marcelino will be laid to rest at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio at a later date.

He is survived by wife Rosa Castillo children Rosa Ramirez, Gilberto Ramirez, Chris Castillo, Saul Ramirez, Mayra Rodriguez, Rebeca Gutierrez and Marcela Castillo and 23 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
