She went on to attend Southern Methodist University, where she was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and where she made many life long friends. Marea married William Judd Jones in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on November 21, 1959 after a courtship that began with a trip to the store for a watermelon with a two-hour detour to the local diner. Marea and Judd have been married for 54 years, and their proudest accomplishment is their four children. They have many wonderful memories of the life they built together with their children with their fondest memory being the time they spent in England where they travelled extensively throughout Europe leading Marea to develop her love of cooking and travel. She never met a recipe she didn't like and used food to bring people together for good conversation and laughter.
