Margaret Stone passed away at her home in Krum, Texas on Saturday, June 21, 2025. She was born in Denton, Texas to Ben and Eva Elender Stuckey on August 7, 1947.

Margaret lived a full life, in that she loved and gave with her whole heart, including how she celebrated her family and their own lives. She was well known for her exceptional birthday cakes, hospitality to all, and holiday dinners that were unmatched. She had a deep connection to nature and a great love of birds and animals, especially her rescue dogs that were well cared for by her and her husband, Steve.

She fueled the life of Steve in their near 57 years of marriage to one another while he provided for her and his family. Margaret was also known for her relentless will and grit, which she inherited from her father, having never missed a day of work in his life.

You might have often found Margaret sitting at her kitchen table listening to the life stories from angsty teenagers and giving counsel to her son's and their friends late into the night. Those who knew her best understood that they could share their own life struggles with her because she had an open ear to all and immeasurable patience and grace.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Benjamin Davis Stuckey (Vietnam '69), and sisters, Julia Ann and Wanda Gene. She is survived by her husband, Steven Stone, and their three children, Uriah Benjamin Stone and his wife Ellie Gonzalez Stone (daughter-in-law), Caleb Carrigan Stone, and Lacy Nekodah Stone, and grandchildren, Soraya Kamryn Stone, Nathaniel Alan Michna, and Natalie Elyse Michna. She leaves a hole that no one can fill, and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 9 AM until 10 AM, in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will follow the visitation in the chapel.

Interment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
