Margo Marie (Curran) Maniatis, 80, of Tacoma, WA, peacefully passed away on February 14, 2024, in Denton, TX. She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on March 18, 1943, to Lawerence and Geraldine Curran.
Margo earned her Master's in Nursing from the University of Washington and retired from nursing at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital. She used her wonderful skills to care for family, friends, and patients. She had an insatiable hunger for knowledge throughout her life. Her hobbies included reading, playing bingo, and caring for her many feathered and furry friends. She was a "Life Master" level bridge player.
She is survived by her son Jeff Maniatis of Pleasanton, CA; daughter Alicia Gustafson and her husband Ed of Denton, TX; son Gregory Maniatis and his wife Lauren of Bellingham, WA; her half-sister Gina Doucet and her husband Art of Vancouver, WA; half-brother Rick Shearer of Vancouver, WA; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. When Margo was 26, she and her husband Gary became Gina and Rick's legal guardians and were the only parents they remember.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gary Maniatis of Tacoma, WA, her mother and father, and brothers, Larry and Jim Curran.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on March 8, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Mark Catholic Church in Denton, Texas. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
