Marguerita
Green
September 12, 1924 – June 23, 2018
Marguerita Green, 93, of Justin away on June 23, 2018 at her home. She was born on September 12, 1924, to Martin and Emma (Berg) Garden. She graduated from Gary High School in Gary Minnesota. She was married to James Robert Green for 55 years; they lived in Justin for the majority of that.
Rita was a devout Lutheran, devoting much of her time to her church. She performed as a soloist and organist for many years in her church, along with teaching Sunday School and other duties. She was a great homemaker, but also worked for Bell Helicopter for 24 years. She loved music and playing the piano, which she passed down to her daughter Rosemarie. Her children were her whole life, and everything she did was aimed to help them. She loved to cook for the family, at her weekly gatherings. Rita had a twin sister named Kitty, whom she was also very close.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie Peterson and husband Lewayne, her son, Marty Green and grandson, Major Green.
She is preceded in death by her husband James, her parents, her sisters, Kitty Garden, Ethel Bauer and Violet Nordby and brother Ogden Garden.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 6-8 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Funeral services will be held at Holy Shepherd Lutheran Church in Haslet, Texas, on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Justin Cemetery in Justin, Texas.
