Marguerite Elizabeth Carter, homemaker, passed away in Decatur, Texas on Friday, December 15th 2023. She was born in Kilbourne, Louisiana on December 16, 1934 to Hiller and Doris (Quimby) McDowell.

Marguerite enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester D Carter. Parents H. L. and Doris Quimby McDowell, brother, W.F. McDowell (Sonny), sisters, Eloise Sanders, and a newborn who passed at birth.

A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date.

Marguerite is survived by her son, Garry Ray Carter (Yvette) of Krum, Texas, daughter, Dianne Bartee (Eddie) of  Albany, Texas, bonus daughter, Donna Loveday Wolfe (Robert) of Katy, Texas. Grandkids: Hillary Whitley (Clayton), Clayton Carter (Amberly), Stephen Bartee (Traci), Melissa Ward (James), Ty Laird (Josie), and Bryson Laird, 9 great grand kids,1 great-great grandchild, and another great-great grandchild on the way. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.
