IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maria
Garza
January 11, 1944 – October 21, 2022
Maria "Lupe" Garza passed away peacefully on Friday October 21, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 11, 1944, to Martin San Miguel and Margerita (Vasquez) San Miguel in Edcouch – Elsa, Texas. Maria spent her first two years living with her grandparents Juan and Juanita San Miguel while her father was a POW in Germany. After her father's return, they lived in Edcouch-Elsa. She attended Edcouch-Elsa schools. Maria met the love of her life Roy Garza, and they married on May 13, 1963. In 1964 they moved and made Denton their home where they made many great memories together. After her retirement Maria and Roy enjoyed going back home to Edcouch-Elsa. She enjoyed being with her family and those daily phone calls. We have lost a wonderful lady, but her legacy will live forever. Maria is preceded in death by her parents Martin and Margerita San Miguel and her son-in-law Frank Olvera.
Visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday, October 28, 2022, with a rosary to be said at 6:00 P.M. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday also at DeBerry Funeral Home.
