Maria De Lourdes Garcia Montes, 53, of Denton passed away on December 1, 2020 in Denton. She was born on February 12, 1967 in Muzquiz, Mexico to Agustin Garcia Soto and Maria Alicia Montes Garcia.

When asked to describe our mother, words such as strong, courageous, giving, selfless, easily came to mind because she embodies all of them, but we will always fall short in expressing the amazingly beautiful person she was and what she means to us.  Our mother lived for her family and dedicated her life to her daughters and grandchildren.  She was compassionate and had a heart for service, and she exemplified that in her career as a caretaker for the elderly.  She was a woman of many friends because she knew how to be one, and she touched many people's lives by sharing a smile, her time, and showing unconditional love.  We are all so fortunate to have known such a beautiful soul.

She is survived by her daughters, Iris Garcia Soto, Vanessa Flores Garcia, Erika Flores Garcia, Jennifer Garcia, her mother Maria Alicia Montes Garcia, her sister Maria Oneida Garcia, brothers Agustin Garcia Montes, Carlos David Garcia Montes, Luis Ariel Garcia Montes.

She was preceded in death by her father Agustin Garcia Soto, and brother Felipe de Jesus Garcia Montes.

A Catholic Vigil Service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas at 2:00 PM.
