Maria DeJesus Maestas passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at her home in Decatur, Texas. She was born on September 9, 1944, in Van Horn, Texas to Vicente and Manuela Sanchez. Maria married Leo J. Maestas in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a homemaker, loved to travel, and was very dedicated to her Catholic faith.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents Vicente and Manuela Sanchez, son Marcos Maestas, brother Delores Sanchez, twin Salvador Sanchez, and her sister Flora Lopez.

Maria is survived by her husband Leo J. Maestas, daughters Rebecca Acosta and Carla Bearimo, son Jesse Gonzales, 4 grandchildren 3 great-grandchildren, brothers Leno Sanchez and Ruben Sanchez, sisters Basilla Calderon and Peggy Aguirre.

Visitation will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denton, Texas at 10:30 AM with a funeral mass following at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 18, 2021. Interment will be in Great Falls, Montana.
