Marie Dush, a long-time resident of Grapevine, Texas, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017, at Denton Good Samaritan.  Born on June 6, 1930, in Waco, Texas, to Charles and Alma Hamilton, Marie later moved with her family to Dallas, Texas, where she attended Crozier Technical High School.  On July 8, 1948, she married the love of her life, John Dush, in Kaufman, Texas. They resided in Dallas until they moved to Grapevine in 1967, and subsequently to Denton in 2015.

Marie was known for her sweet, gentle spirit, but also for her quiet strength and great love for her family and friends.   Professionally, she was revered as a trusted childcare provider.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grapevine.

Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John, and her precious daughter, Vikki Dush Franklin.  She is survived by daughter, Linda Mills, and husband, Tom, of Corinth. Sisters, Faye Allison and Jane Clements of Mabank, and brother, Buddy Hamilton of Dallas. Two grandchildren:  Randall Thomas Sims of Big Pine Key, Florida, and Linda Michele Griffith, of Lewisville. Four great-grandchildren: Kye Sims, Eric Sims, Max Griffith and Lidda Griffith.  She is also remembered with love by many honorary children who were in her care, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M prior to the service on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at DeBerry Funeral Directors, 2025 W. University, Denton.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M.  Interment will be at 1:30 P.M. in the Garden of Remembrance, Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
