Marie Annette Okerson died peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on June 19, 2018 at 10:21P.M., at the age of 64.

Marie is survived by her son, Stephen Tyler Okerson, daughter, Kymberly Marie Crowdus, grandchildren, Shelbie Tayler Okerson, Wesley Dylan Okerson, Mallory Jane Okerson, Shiann Michelle Crowdus, brother, Peter Grant Friddell and wife Phyliss and their children, Rebecca Friddell, Grant Friddell and wife Andrea and ex-husband, Steve Okerson.

She is preceded in death by daughter, Kristen Marie Okerson, father, Grover Cleveland Friddell and mother, Anna Caroline Friddell.

Marie was born on June 26, 1953 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated from The University of Central Oklahoma in 1978 with a degree in Nursing.  She began her nursing career in the NICU near Houston, TX.  She then found her calling as a school nurse, mainly for elementary and middle school age children. Marie was a bright, positive, loving woman who always found the silver linings and blessings in everything.  She enriched the lives of all those that knew and loved her.

A public viewing is also scheduled at Bill DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton, TX (2025 W University DR, Denton, TX 76201) on June 23, 2018 @ 4:00P.M.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for June 24, 2018 at 3:00P.M. at the Wildhorse Grill in the Robson Ranch community (9400 Ed Robson BLVD, Denton, TX 76207), with Ryan Wilson will officiating the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marie's life.

In lieu of flowers, Marie would like donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
