Obituary

Mariella Fallis Cornell of Denton passed away peacefully on Saturday June 8, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mariella was born on September 30, 1934 in Perrin, Texas to Frank and Mary King Fallis. She married Kenneth S. Cornell in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1962. She met Kenneth in California where they both lived and worked in Social Services for many years.


Mariella attended the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University obtaining degrees in Speech and Drama as well as a lifetime teaching certificate. She also attended the University of Dallas where she received her Masters degree in Theology. She was a member of the St. Mark Catholic Church where she often served as a lecturer and she also later taught speech and drama at their school and read for the blind.


She was an accomplished and award-winning actress and speech and debate coach throughout her lifetime. She was involved in the community theater. She was a member of the Denton Benefit League, and was also the former President of the Denton Women's Council of Realtors. She won many awards for her outstanding achievements at Ebby Halliday Realtors.


She is survived by her husband, Kenneth S. Cornell and daughter, Cassandra Cornell and husband, Robert Keith Clementson. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Mary King Fallis.


Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, June 12 at 2:00pm at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Chapel in Denton, Texas. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
