Marilyn Jane Crowell, 76, of Denton passed away on February 8, 2024, in Denton. She was born on April 16, 1947, in Davenport, Iowa to Endor and Sophie Sorgdrager. Marilyn was one of five sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Audrey Graham, Vivian Roach, and Delores Weaver.

Marilyn was a graduate of Denton High School class of 1965. She was married to Robert Carroll for a period of 19 years, then divorced. She then was remarried to Gene Crowell until their divorce. Marilyn enjoyed being self-employed and starting multiple business ventures. She operated Denton Trophy in Denton, Video Movies in Celina, an Optical and Flooring store in Mineral Wells, Baby Britches children's resale in Denton, and Merney's House home daycare in Denton. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, arts and crafts, crossword puzzles, and her pets.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelley Fudge-Pugh, and her husband, Emmett of Ardmore, Oklahoma; son, John Carroll, and his wife Tammy of Corinth, Texas; sister, Ginger Fisher of Flower Mound, Texas; nine grandchildren: Andrea Cheever, Collin Aeling, Jared Brown, Bryson Fudge, Brandon Pugh, Hannah Powell. Mariah Pugh, Aaron Pugh, Ashley Pugh and ten great-grandchildren: Miranda Hernandez, Anthony Romo, Preston Ledford, Jace Aeling, Kinzley Aeling, Paisley Aeling, Vayda Aeling, Ringo Mayberry, Penny Powell, and Archie Powell.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 5 PM until 7 PM in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas.
