Obituary

Marilyn Dennis Dailey of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, at the age of 87. She is now home with Jesus, her Lord and Savior. Born on June 15, 1938, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Marilyn was the daughter of Henry Palmer and Virginia Heer Dennis.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband David of 58 years, the two made their home in Denton beginning in 1976. Marilyn was a devout follower of Christ whose faith guided her life and touched many others. She served as a leader in both the Denton Christian Women's Club and Denton Women's Aglow. She left a lasting impact on countless young lives through her years of teaching 9th grade Sunday School at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. In later years, she became an active member of Glory of Zion International.

In addition to her strong faith and love for ministry, Marilyn embraced life fully. She loved traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family—especially gathering around the pool, where laughter and memories were shared across generations. Her joyful spirit, nurturing heart, and warm presence enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Marilyn will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community at Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village, where she lived during her final years.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, from 5:00-7:00 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton. A celebration of Marilyn's life will take place on Saturday at 11:00 am in the DeBerry Funeral Chapel, with interment following at Roselawn Memorial Park.

She is survived by her children Susan and Chris Schweiker, David R and Carlene Dailey, James and Nancy Dailey; her grandchildren Alex and Taylor Schweiker, Andrea and Alex Riley, Kyle Dailey, Eric and Michelle Dailey, David E and Wylie Dailey, Holly and Michael Brittner, Brian and McKenzie Rosenbaum, Wesley Rosenbaum; great-grandchildren Dylan, Scarlett, Harrison, Josephine, Sonny, Liddy Mae, Jace, Micah, Caleb, Arlo, James, Grant, and Oliver; and her beloved sister Judith and Joseph A Barry of Pittsburgh, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glory of Zion Int'l, 7801 S Interstate 35 East, Corinth, TX 76210, American Red Cross, Wounded Warriors.
