Obituary

Mariom Moore Spalding, 94, of Ponder, Texas passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023. She was born in Prosper, TX on October 9, 1928 to Jerry Moore and Bessie Couser.

She attended school in Prosper, Texas.  After graduating from high school, she went on to attend business school.  Mim worked at a girls' home in Dallas, and then went on to work at Moore's Business Forms.

On November 3, 1950 she married the love of her life, Thomas Wylie Spalding.  They made their home in Ponder, Texas.

Mariom (Mim as she was known to her friends, and Sis by her family) was a member of First United Methodist Church of Denton, the Bungalow Sunday School Class, and the Trippers Group.  She was an avid Ponder Basketball fan.  She never missed a game until the last few years.  In 2013 the Ponder Lions presented her with the "Ponder's Greatest Fan" plaque for 60 years of loyal support.  The referees also presented her with her own referee's jersey because she loved to yell at them.  She loved taking trips with her Trippers church group, fishing, and watching the Mavericks and Rangers.  But, her biggest pride was her family.

She is survived by her sons, Kelly Spalding (Denise) and Kenny Spalding.  Three grandchildren, Kelcey Robertson (David), Anthony Galindo (Latrice), and Chrissy Kirkpatrick.  She is also survived by five great-granddaughters, and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Wylie Spalding, her parents, 5 sisters, and 3 brothers.
