Marisa Annette Starr-Mahan, 43 of Denton passed away Saturday at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Marisa was born November 12, 1969 in Denton to Charles "Buddy" and Martha Piña Starr. She graduated from Denton High School and attended TWU. She married Charles Mahan on August 14, 1999 in Denton.


The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Tuesday night from 6 to 8:00 p.m. for visitation. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 15th at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with the Rev. Buddy Owens officiating. The celebration she always wanted will follow the funeral service at the Mahan residence.


The family has requested that memorials be made in lieu of flowers to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.


Marisa is survived by her husband Charles Mahan of Denton, mother, Martha Starr of Sanger, sister Natasha Starr Kirkland, Staff Sgt. Jason B. Starr, US Army Europe. She was preceded in death by her father Charles "Buddy" Starr.
