Marqueitta [Keta] Bell's Obituary

Marqueitta [Keta] Bell passed into heaven on Friday, July 6, 2018. She retired after many years of teaching in Little Elm and then Denton elementary schools. She continued to be a substitute teacher until cancer hit.

She is survived by her loving son, David Hobbs, and his sweet wife, Celine Hobbs, of Lenexa, Kansas. Also three brothers and two sisters: Guy Bell and Alex Bell of Amarillo, Texas, Byron Bell of Wellington, Texas, Jeanette Stradley of Denton and Judy Sturgeon of Jacksonville, Florida, plus numerous nephews, nieces and their families.

She was born December 4, 1946, in Wellington.

Her schooling was in Wellington, Dumas and Amarillo. A year was spent at Amarillo College, Texas Tech and Washburn University. In the 1990s Keta decided to complete her college education and entered the University of North Texas. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.

Marqueitta's primary life focus for many years has been her devotion to Christ. Keta has been involved in many ministries of Cross Timbers Community Church, at their Argyle, Denton, and Lake Cities campuses. Her personal focus has been individuals and groups. Her legacy will be a large number of people who will deeply miss her "being there" for them.

A Celebration of Keta's Life will be held Friday, July 13 th at 11:00 a.m.  at the Denton campus of Cross Timbers, 312 W. McKinney St. Denton, TX. 76201.

Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service at Cross Timbers Denton beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Toby Slough, senior pastor at Cross Timbers, will officiate.

Keta had no "favorite charity" beyond her church. She would probably suggest that you make an extra gift to your church or organization as a gesture of friendship.
