Martha P.
Chollar
April 4, 1938 – January 11, 2019
Martha P. Chollar, 80, of Marietta, Oklahoma, passed away in Marietta on January 11, 2019 after she lost her brief battle with cancer. She made her final journey to God in peace and comfort in her home, surrounded by the love of her family. Martha was born on April 4, 1938 in Mexico City, to Ildefonso and Margarita (Serrano) Portillo. She married Worth Chollar on September 9, 1959 in Mexico City, Mexico. She lived with her family in Hurst, Texas and earned her cosmetology license. In 1971 the family moved to Argyle, Texas where Martha opened the Argyle Hairloft Beauty Salon. In 2003, after 32 years of owning the business she retired, and moved to Marietta, Oklahoma with her husband Worth. She spent her remaining years enjoying the peaceful country life with her family and friends. Martha never lost her love of travel and shared it with her grandchildren, Abby and Robbie. Family was always the priority in her life. Our Momma Doe was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her husband, Worth B Chollar of Marietta; daughter, Margaret Worth of Corinth, Texas; son, Worth B Chollar, Jr. and wife, Cheryl, of Frisco, Texas; sister, Carmen Conde and husband, Juan Carlos, of Delray Beach, Florida; brothers, Guellermo Portillo of Juarez, Mexico, Manuel Portillo of Michuacan, Mexico, Ildefonso Portillo of Mexico City, Mexico; granddaughter, Abby Worth and grandsons, Dillion Worth and wife, Lisa, of Canton, Ohio and Robbie Chollar. She is preceded in death by her mother and father.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Interment will follow at Graham-Argyle Cemetery in Argyle, Texas.
Martha always said, "Flowers are for the living." It was her wish that donations be made to her church building fund (Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Marietta) in lieu of flowers. Please visit www.gofundme.com , and search "Martha Chollar" for more information and to make contributions.
