Martha Lou Hilliard, 71, of Shady Shores passed away on March 20, 2022, in Denton, Texas. She was born in Denton to Bobby and Frankie (Brown) Lee on September 7, 1950.

Martha worked and retired from Victor Equipment for 40+ years.  After she retired, she worked with her daughter and son in law in their food trailer. She enjoyed being able to travel the state and go to new places.  She was a member of the Denton County Sheriff's Posse and loved dressing up as the Easter Bunny for the children when they had egg hunts.  She liked to go on family camping trips, garage sales and to the casino with her sister and daughter.  She enjoyed making ceramics, dancing in the living room with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren.  Martha was the caretaker of many, the rock of the family and was there for whomever needed her.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Hilliard, daughter, Julie Mahavier and husband Russ, of Lake Dallas, Tx., sons; Thomas Hilliard, Jr., of Shady Shores, Tx., Lonnie Hilliard, of Shady Shores, Tx., Monty Hilliard and wife, Elanie of Shady Shores, Tx., sisters, Patricia Jeter of Ponder, Tx.,  Betty Ouellette of Shady Shores, Tx., brothers; Robert Lee, of Denton, Tx., Izike Lee of Shady Shores, Tx., Shannon Lee of Shady Shores, Tx., fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Shiloh Cemetery in Corinth, Tx., on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 2:00 PM.
