Obituary

Martin Weiss, at age 102, peacefully passed away on April 25, 2024 at home in Ponder, Texas. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 29, 1921 to Dora Dudowsky and Charles Weiss. He served during World War II from August 1941 to November 1945 with United States Army Air Corp. He was a proud veteran. Marty then had a successful career with the Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration Southwest Region until August 1978. He witnessed the rapid growth in the field of air traffic control. Until he enjoyed a long and happy retirement in Abilene, Texas and then Ponder, Texas.

His favorite story to tell was about his faith… when a farmer wearing coveralls came from the farm fields in Clarendon, Texas knocked on his door and shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with him. When he went to church that Sunday, nobody knew who that farmer had been that came to talk to him. Now he knows…

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Elizabeth of 63 years. Marty is survived by his two daughters, Jeanne Fulls and Susan Quigg.
