Mary Helen Gonzales was born in Dallas, Texas on February 4, 1972. She was the oldest of three children born to Juanita Janie Gonzales. Mary and her family later moved to Denton, Texas where she attended Denton ISD and later confessed her love for Christ. Growing up Mary had several hobbies that she enjoyed. She loved skating, fixing her hair, listening to music, dancing, cookouts, laughing, joking and spending time with her family and friends. Mary departed from this world on May 6, 2021 at Medical City of Denton.

Mary was a caring and loving individual who touched the lives of so many people. To love Mary was to know her. She brought light into any room that she entered. Mary had nicknames and little sayings for all of her family and friends. She drove buses for Durham School Services for many years and all the parents and children loved her. Mary loved her dogs Blackie "On the Block", Tigre, and Nicki. Her favorite movie was Urban Cowboy.

She was preceded in death by her Mommy, grandparents, aunts and uncles. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Armando Alvarez, her 5 children James Gonzales, Celeste Gonzales, Destiney Gonzales, De'Andre Grimes and Lyric Grimes. Her beautiful granddaughters Jamilya "Ruby" Gonzales, Dez'nique King, Damara King and Faith King "The Chocolate Chips". Her sister Christy (Chuck) and Vicki. Nephews Charles "Red", Anthony, Troy "Pepe" and Brandon. Nieces Kristal and Miranda. Special cousin Susie Magana, special friends Melissa, CeCi, Tafoya, Tanya, Kristy, "Katy Perry" and a host of cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Thursday, May 13th, 2021 @ DeBerry Funeral Directors.  Funeral Service is scheduled @ 2pm Friday, May 14, 2021 also at DeBerry's with interment following at I. O.O.F. Cemetery in Denton, TX
