IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Helen
Kapavik
April 7, 1923 – June 21, 2025
Mary Helen Kapavik, a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished matriarch, went home to the Lord peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the age of 102. Born to J.W. Lindsey and Mary Alma Paty Lindsey on April 7, 1923, in Mexia, Texas, Mary was known for her strength, perseverance and unwavering dedication to her family. She lived a life rooted in love, hard work, and deep faith.
Mary weathered many difficult times, including having lived through the Great Depression and three wars. She passed on a spirit of resilience and compassion to her children - values that continue to shape future generations. As a farm wife, she raised chickens, sold eggs, maintained a large vegetable garden, helped milk cows, and hauled hay. A devoted mother to four daughters, she supported all their activities - including band, the Sheriff's Posse Rodeo Club, Scouts, and the PTA. Beyond cheering them on, she showed her love in quiet ways, like sewing every piece of their clothing. She was a loving "Mimi" to all of her grandchildren, creating treasured memories that will last a lifetime.
She found great joy in the simple things, especially in her garden, where she spent countless hours nurturing flowers, especially her roses, irises, and bluebonnets. Family gatherings were a highlight of her life, and she was known for her extraordinary cooking. Her pecan, chocolate, and lemon meringue pies were especially delicious, each made with the same care and love she poured into all she did.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, four siblings, a beloved aunt and uncle, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is survived by her four daughters: Cherry Fuller; Carol Lenoir; Alma Jo and her husband, Harold Eubanks; and Kristina and her husband, Larry Wilson. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and their spouses, eight great-grandchildren and two spouses, and six great-great-grandchildren - each a source of immense pride and joy.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday at Evergreen Cemetery in Paris, Texas.
Mary's legacy lives on in the love she gave, the family she raised, the meals she shared, and the values she upheld. Even until the day she passed, she was still giving that motherly advice to her daughters. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
