Mary Denice Matlock, 63 of Denton, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 in Denton, Texas. She was born on July 11, 1951 in Denton, Texas to Andrew and Dolres (Manry) Anderson.
She was a graduate of Denton High School and employed at Denton Good Samaritan, Denton Village for 29 years in housekeeping and had many friends on campus there.
Denice met Mike Matlock at the old Rocking R dance club in Denton, that began a three year courtship. Denice and Mike married in Denton, Texas on June 2, 2000.
Denice had suffered a stroke in the past years and went through rehabilitation and therapy, which brought Denice and Mike closer together. A relationship built on trust is what got us through, says Mike. Denice enjoyed what she called "doodle art", Mike and Denice were constant companions.
Denice is survived by her husband, Micheal Matlock of Denton; mother, Dorles McCormick of Denton, sister Edena Irwin of Ponder and brother Bill Anderson of Pilot Point.
A memorial service will be held at Denton Good Samaritan at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 06, 2015. A graveside service will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas at 2:00 PM
