Mullins
June 16, 1940 – April 4, 2024
Mary Alice "Granny" Mullins, age 83, passed away at home on Thursday, April 4, 2024. She had a long battle with heart disease and cancer. She was born in Ingram Branch, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Dexter Ray Epling and Mabel (Wooten) Epling.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Cal Mullins ( married for 60 years), daughters, Amy Whitehead (Adam), and Tara Lontz (Travis), grandchildren, Emily Lontz, Nathan Lontz, Lexi Whitehead, Andrew Whitehead, brother, Dexter Epling and her beloved 16-year-old cat, Gus. She was a schoolteacher for 24 years before retiring in 1999.
She and her husband lived in Robson Ranch Retirement Community for the last few years. She belonged to several clubs and especially enjoyed playing Mexican Train with friends. She sewed doll clothes every year and donated them, along with a new doll, to less fortunate children at Christmas time.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas.
