Obituary

It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the loss of our beloved wife and mother Mary Lynn (Claffey) Seebeck. Red (as she was known to her friends and family) passed away after a courageous four-year battle with cancer surrounded by her husband Tom and their three children, Gayle, Ellen and Mark on March 4, 2022 in Denton, Texas.

Mary was born on November 14, 1939 in South Bend, Indiana to John & Gayle Claffey and grew up in Lake Five, Wisconsin on the family farm. Mary attended grade school at St. Mary's in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and high school at Holy Angels All Girls Academy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Mary went on to marry the love of her life, Tom in 1958 and together they had four children, Mary Ann, Gayle, Mark and Ellen. Tom and Red lived in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin up until 1984 when they relocated to follow their dreams in Texas.

With Tom's loving support Mary started her career in the insurance and financial services industry and founded Mary Seebeck & Associates. She was most proud that their children were able to be part of the agency with Gayle as CFO and both Mark and Ellen becoming licensed Advisors.

Mary had the gift of guidance and her teachings led her to write her book and legacy, American Dream Women. Mary traveled the country as a gifted motivational speaker teaching women the importance of attaining financial independence and security. Her never ending strength and determination fueled her desire to touch the lives of those she encountered on a truly personal level. Everyone who knew Mary walked away a better person.  She was an inspiration to all who knew her positive spirit, joyful attitude and that contagious laugh.

Her biggest success was her role as a wife and soulmate to Tom, married 63 years. They shared a lifetime of memories and traveled the world. Without doubt-family was most important to Mary.
