Mary Margaret Wagner, was born on February 15, 1931, in Oneida, Kansas. She passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, in Denton, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience that will be cherished by those who knew her.
In 1947, at the young age of 16, Mary met the love of her life, Elwood Wagner, 28. A year later they married on March 15, 1948. Five years later, on November 24, 1953, Mary gave birth to twins, Tamara and Thomas Wagner. She thought it was the best blessing God could have ever bestowed upon her. In 1954, Mary and Elwood, with their infant children and Mary’s Mother, moved to Denton. Texas, so that Elwood could pursue his masonry business. Mary was a stay at home Mom until her children entered high school. At that time, she decided to pursue a job in retail where she enjoyed being around other people and made many friends along the way. Mary and Elwood lived out the rest of their lives in Denton. Mary was fortunate to have a loving, doting husband that was evidenced by the 58 years of marriage they shared until Elwood’s death in 2006.
Mary was the beloved daughter of Karl and Ruby Boltz, both of whom have preceded her in death. Mary was the youngest, and last survivor, of a large family of siblings with 6 brothers and 6 sisters. She is survived by her dear daughter, Tamara Wagner, and son Thomas Wagner, who carry forward Mary's spirit and the values she instilled in her family.
