Mary Westmoreland, 89, passed away at her home Friday, September 7, 2018. She was born to J.B. and Annie Bell (Goodnight) Burns on November 11, 1928 in Dallas, Texas.

Mary attended Dallas schools and graduated from Sunset High School. She later went on to University of North Texas. On February 6, 1949 she married Reginald Conway Westmoreland in Dallas, Texas. They went on to have three children together, Linda, Lisa, and David.

She was a member of Denton Bible Church and a volunteer at the Denton Crisis Pregnancy Center and Denton State School. She also mentored numerous women over the years.

Mary was powerful spiritual force in her family. Through her quiet spirit, encouraging words and constant prayer, she made an indelible impact on the lives of all who knew and loved her. She was truly one-of-a-kind and will be sorely missed.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Annie Burns, and her son, David C. Westmoreland.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Reginald Westmoreland, and her daughters, Linda Storm of Ontario, California and Lisa Burlingame of Sherman, Texas, as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 14, 2018 in The Denton Bible Church Chapel with Rev. Tom Nelson officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mary's honor to Denton Bible Church Missions.
