On March 18, 2016, Mathew Lawrence Skinner, left his frail body and went to be with Jesus. He was born August 14, 1972. He had lived most of his life at Denton State School. His empty hospital bed and wheelchair is a stark reminder of the pain and trials he endured in this life.
If our love and prayers could have healed his body, then Mathew would have been healed long ago, but God had a different plan for his life. Mathew stayed the course and finished his race.
Then in the "twinkling of an eye", Mathew was changed into perfection.
His eyes that could not see now see the glory and majesty of heaven. His ears that enjoyed music here on earth, now hear the choirs of angels singing praises to our Heavenly Father. His lips that could not speak now sing and shout for joy! His legs that could not stand and his feet that could not walk, now walk and run and even dance on streets of solid gold.
Mathew, if we whisper your name in a quiet moment during the day or in the dark of the night or you see us sitting in your beautiful garden and you see a tear roll down our cheek, it's because we love you and miss you. So, until we meet again, enjoy all of those things you could never do here on earth and know that you are in our hearts and you will never be forgotten.
Mathew is survived and missed by his parents, Ted and Carol Skinner and his big brother, Michael Skinner.
A Memorial Service will be held at Denton State School on April 18, 2016 at 1:30 P.M.
