Matthew "Matt" Guy Bateman, 51, of Denton, Texas passed away March 18, 2021 at his home. He was born November 21, 1969 in Wheeler, Texas to James Thomas and Patsy Nell Robinson Bateman.

Matt graduated from Denton High School in 1988 and he attended the University of North Texas. The youngest son of a football coach, Matt had a love for all sports.  Like his father, he had a passion for coaching and enjoyed coaching youth baseball for several years.

Matt is preceded in death by his father.  He is survived by his mother, Patsy Bateman; brothers, Mark and his wife, Kimberly; and Mike and his wife, Donna; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, Micah, Dylan and friends.

Due to Covid restrictions, the family will be having a private ceremony and burial, at a later date, at the Bateman Family Cemetery in Guthrie, Texas.
