Obituary

Matthew "Matt" Stephen McEwan, 45, of Krum, Texas, was taken from us far too soon on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

Born on August 11, 1979, in St. Louis, Missouri, Matt was a man of integrity, intelligence, and deep compassion. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University and later obtained his M.B.A. from The University of Florida.

Matt built a successful career in the graphics and printing industries before following his passion into the cattle industry in 2015. With a particular focus on Wagyu cattle, he quickly became a respected leader in the field. His dedication, expertise, and natural ability to connect with others led him to serve as an active board member of the Texas Wagyu Association. Always generous with his time and knowledge, Matt was a mentor and trusted resource in the Wagyu community.

Matt's leadership extended well beyond his professional life. He was deeply devoted to his family, the true center of his world. A loving husband and proud father, Matt's greatest joy was spending time with his wife and children. His magnetic personality, quick wit, and warm spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie McEwan, and their children Hunter, Henley, and Hollie McEwan, all of Krum, Texas; his father, Stephen McEwan of Jacksonville, Florida; his mother, Sherri Walker of Valley View, Texas; his sister, Jill McEwan of Pine, Colorado, her husband John, and their children Madalyn and Joshua. He is also remembered fondly by many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends whose lives he touched.

Matt's presence, laughter, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed, but his legacy of strength, generosity, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him.

No services are planned at this time.
