Obituary

Max Broyles, born on September 13, 1943, in Shreveport, LA, passed away on January 27, 2025, in Denton, TX. He dedicated 49 years of his life to Halliburton and served four years in the U.S. Navy, embodying a strong work ethic and commitment to his family.

Max was a devoted husband to Linda Broyles, sharing a loving marriage that spanned nearly five decades. He was a proud father to his children: Kelly, Kimberly, Jamie, Kara, and Jenna, Toire Lemley (Daughter-In law), Barry Schwerdt Jr (Son-In law) and cherished his role as a grandfather to fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Max's family meant the world to him, and he was known as the patriarch who always put them first.

A fun-loving and witty soul, Max was often found front and center at lake karaoke, where he enjoyed being a spectator among friends and family. His love for Mexican food and a good Old Milwaukee beer shaped many cherished gatherings. A country music enthusiast with a flair for blues, he delighted in the sounds of Garth Brooks and Stevie Ray Vaughan, often reminiscing about his favorite places, from South Padre Island to Destin, FL.

Max had a passion for classic cars and boats, often spending more time accumulating his collection than driving them. He loved competing in chili cook-offs, always giving it his best shot, even if he didn't clinch the title like his wife. His humorous spirit was exemplified by his famous quotes like "LINDA!" and "you better be saving for your retirement."

Max was an active member of his community, proudly serving as the president of his imaginary car club, where he was the sole member. He had a spirited love for the Dallas Cowboys, captivating those around him with his infectious enthusiasm.

He will be remembered for his big heart, humor, and the indelible impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Max Broyles leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever be held in the hearts of his family and friends.
