Max Vestal House, age 77, was born in Stamford, Texas on September 16, 1946, to J.W. House, Jr. & Eula Vestal House. He married Anita Horn in January of 1971. To this union, two children were born, one son, Jason Wayne, & one daughter, Jamie Louise. He passed away from this life on February 24, 2024, in Bonham, Texas.

He graduated from Weatherford High School, class of 1965. He graduated from the University of North Texas in 1972. He served in the Army from 1966 to 1968 where he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, & then served in Vietnam as an APC tank driver. He was awarded The Bronze Star & Purple Heart medals. He chose a career in sales, where he enjoyed the opportunity of meeting & interacting with people.

He was a member at the Sherman Drive church of Christ. He has been a Christian for 44 years, during which time he served as a deacon, elder, & Bible class teacher. He enjoyed reading his Bible daily, playing chess, & watching western tv shows.

He is preceded in death by his parents; & his brother-in-law, Frank Horn. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anita; his son, Jason House & wife Haleigh of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter, Jamie Ashley of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jackson, Kendi, & Lacy House & Aiden & Emmit Ashley; one brother, Freddie House & wife Odette of Anaheim, California; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Garrett of Weatherford, TX & Melanie Horn of Aledo, Texas; one brother-in-law, Travis Horn of Colorado Springs, Colorado; & a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at the Sherman Drive church of Christ in Denton, Texas. The committal service will begin at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Brock Cemetery in Brock, Texas.
