Maximo (Max) Villarreal, 54, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 21st, 2026.
Max was born on February 10th, 1972, in Denton, Tx to Jesus and Maria Imelda Villarreal. Max was a man defined by his love for family. While he proudly cheered for the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys, nothing brought him more joy than his daughters and his grandbabies. He was known for his strength, resilience, and generous heart. Max worked hard throughout his life to provide for and protect those he loved. He found joy in cooking for family and friends and could cook just about anything. He was always willing to help, often putting others before himself without hesitation. Max built lasting friendships through his work at Henkels & McCoy, Davis Cranes, and R&L. He was also a faithful member of Friendship Church of Denton. Max will be remembered as a devoted father, very proud grandfather, loving son, and brother. Max's presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around him. He leaves a legacy of love, friendship and connection.
Max is survived by his daughters and their families; Bailie and her husband Jimmy Hill, and Hallie Villarreal; his beloved grandbabies Hartlee, Hadlee, & Jordan Hill and Max Villarreal; his mother Maria Imelda Villarreal; and his sisters Misty Barron, Jessica Villarreal and husband Ben Bordlemay, and brother Jesus Villarreal. He was preceded in death by: His father, Jesus Vela Villarreal; His grandparents, Raul and Cleotilde Ramirez, Jesus Villareal and Estela Vela Villarreal.
His family extends heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff at Medical City of Denton and to Dr. Cruz and Dr. Lesley Richey Smith for the compassionate care and support shown to Max.
Visitation will be held on March 5, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors, located at 2025 W University Dr, Denton, TX 76201. A funeral service honoring Max's life will take place the following day, March 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Friendship Church, situated at 3813 West University Drive, Denton, TX 76207 followed by a graveside service at Sanger Cemetery.
Max's strength, love, and unwavering dedication to his family will live on in all who knew him.
