Obituary

Maxine Marie Wyatt, 74, of Sanger, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, surrounded by love, on June 28, 2025. Born on November 8, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, Maxine lived a vibrant and generous life defined by faith, family, and service to others.

Maxine was the daughter of Jack Warren Reed (predeceased) and Fuchsia Marie Weare Reed, who survives her. She was raised alongside her beloved siblings: sister Patricia Ann Albrecht, brother Jack Warren Reed Jr. (Barbara), and her late brother William Henry Reed.

In 1968 Maxine graduated from Edison High School in San Antonio, Texas. She moved to Denton County in 1968 and spent most of her life in Krum, Texas, where she was a devoted resident from 1972 until 2008. She later made her home in Sanger, Texas. She worked at Peterbilt Motors for over 25 years, where she was known for her work ethic, warmth, and dedication.

Maxine found joy in gardening, camping, entertaining, garage sale and estate sale hunting, traveling, and lending a helping hand wherever one was needed. She served as a board member and faithful volunteer at the Sanger Crisis Center, where she poured out her heart in service to her community. Her generosity extended far beyond formal volunteering. She opened her home and heart to many in need, including providing shelter for the homeless.

As a child, Maxine was a Girl Scout and carried that adventurous, resilient spirit throughout her life. She loved being outdoors, dancing, and working on home projects. She was a devoted softball coach for her daughters' summer teams and took great joy in cheering others on.

Of all the roles Maxine filled in her lifetime, being "Maw" to her grandchildren was her greatest joy and highest calling. Her grandchildren were absolutely her crown and her most prized possession. She spent her life showing up for them, at every game, concert, recital, birthday, and milestone, with a radiant smile and a heart full of love. She celebrated their talents, championed their dreams, and made each one feel deeply cherished. Her presence in their lives was unwavering and intentional. Maw was their biggest fan, strongest supporter, and constant encourager, a legacy of love that will live on in them forever.

Some of her most cherished moments were spent around the dinner table, surrounded by friends and family, enjoying a meal she had prepared with love. She was a nurturer in every sense and found her purpose in caring for others. Maxine lovingly cared for her mother, Fuchsia, in recent years, a reflection of the deep bond they shared and the selflessness that defined her character.

The love of Maxine's life was James Terrell Wyatt, her soulmate and best friend from their first date in 1997 until the day she took her last breath. They shared a beautiful life full of love, laughter, travel, dancing, and deep companionship.
