Maybelle Newton McCann passed away peacefully in Denton, Texas on Sunday, November 21, 2021. She was born in Frisco, Texas to Arthur and Jossie (Howard) Newton on August 12, 1941. Maybelle enjoyed living life and loved her family immensely. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was loved by all that knew her. Her 2 granddaughters were her pride and joy.

She is preceded in death by her siblings, Shirley Newton, Ruth Vaughn, Marvin Newton, Arthur Lee Newton, Charles "Bobby" Newton, and Margaret Claytor.

Maybelle is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles McCann of Lake Dallas, Texas; her children Beverly McCann of Denton, Texas, Tim McCann and his wife, Dana of Aubrey, Texas, Gale George and her husband, Kevin of McKinney, Texas and Dale McCann and his wife Jennifer, of McKinney, Texas; Her granddaughters: Ashlyn George and Emma McCann both of McKinney, Texas; her sister, Marie Fenimore of Denton.

Family visitation is scheduled for 5 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Lake Cities Methodist Church in Lake Dallas, with interment following at Swisher Cemetery.
