Michael Harrill, born January 27, 1947, in Denton, passed away peacefully at his home in Denton on July 6, 2026. Michael’s life was anchored in the community where he was born and where he chose to spend his days, leaving an indelible mark through years of devoted service, family connection, and steadfast integrity.

He began his educational journey at Denton High School, paving the way for a life of responsibility and service to others. In his early adulthood, Michael answered the call to serve his country, proudly dedicating himself as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. His military service exemplified his commitment to honor and duty—qualities that would continue to inform every aspect of his life.

Upon returning home, Michael pursued a rewarding and accomplished career with Texas Instruments, where he worked diligently for 26 years. Colleagues remember him for his unwavering work ethic, his loyalty, and his willingness to lend a helping hand. His career was a testament to his perseverance and the high standards to which he held himself.

Michael’s greatest joys, however, came from his relationships with those around him. He is lovingly survived by his son, Arron Harrill; his sister, Marlaine Harrill; 3 cherished grandchildren. Their lives have been shaped by his wisdom, compassion, and gentle humor, creating a legacy built on strong family ties and unwavering support.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Frances and Oran Harrill, and his half brother, James Barr. 

Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Michael are invited to pay their respects at a visitation with family on July 22, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors, 2025 W University Dr, Denton, TX 76201. A funeral service will follow on July 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., also at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors.

Michael Harrill will be remembered for his honorable service, enduring kindness, and the warm sense of community he fostered throughout his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know and love him.
