Michael Lewis Hill, age 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 30, 2023.  He was born in Denton, Texas on January 27, 1950 to Edward and Mary Jo Hill. Michael attended Denton High School and was a proud graduate of the class of '68. He worked for GTE/Verizon as a Central Office Technician and retired after 40 years of service.  He received numerous commendations for his expertise and dedication throughout his career. He also served in the Naval Air Reserve. Mike will be remembered for his sense of humor, his chip shot, and his love for his family. Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Steve Raines.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Woolson, brother, Donald (Gail) Hill, and sister, Ruby Raines.  He will be lovingly missed by stepdaughters, Katie (Stewart) Gee, Kera (Scott) Sadler and five grandchildren, London Sadler, Sam, Matthew, Adelyn and Bennett Gee, who affectionately called him Poppy.  He is also survived by his nephews David (Emily) Hill, Tyler (Anne) Raines, niece Stacey (Travis) Hooker and great nieces, Karlee and Kendall Hooker and Leah and Kate Raines.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at DeBerry Funeral Home with visitation to begin at 12:30 pm.  Mike will be laid to rest at Little Elm Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael's name to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
