Mildred Elaine Adams
December 22, 1929 - March 27, 2024

Millie Adams, 94, of Stephenville, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024. She was born on December 22, 1929, in Celina Texas, to the late Willie and Velma Ann Christian Hall. She married the love of her life, James E. Adams, on February 13, 1945.

Mildred was preceded by her husband, James Adams, in 2014; two brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by her three loving sons: Rev. Gary Adams and wife Ruth of Lewisville, Texas; Dr. Phillip Adams and wife Kimberlea of Stephenville, Texas; and Stephen Adams and wife Carol of Lufkin, Texas, her 11 grandchildren and their spouses, 37 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by seven loving siblings: five sisters and their families and two brothers and their families.

Millie worked in several doctors offices as administrative staff through the years, but her most life changing experience was when she and her husband, James, dropped everything to attend Language School in the early 1970's to prepare to embark on a new life as Missionaries to South America. They spent 22 years working to bring the Gospel message and pastoral care to the precious people in Jujuy, Argentina and surrounding areas. They later served for 15 years as Care Pastors at Covenant Church in Carrollton, Texas. In 2013, Millie and James wrote and published a book about their missionary journey titled "The Call, the Alignment, the Assignment" in which they shared inspiring personal stories of the experiences and challenges they faced in ministry.

Millie enjoyed traveling with her husband, sewing quilts and other special things for her family, ministering to groups and counseling couples on the subject of marriage, early morning prayer time and visiting with her sons and their wives and her grandchildren. Her beautiful smile and gentle ways were treasures enjoyed by everyone who met her. She leaves a legacy of faithfully loving and serving God and loving her family and friends. Her radiance will continue to be remembered.

Visitation will be held at 10 AM on Monday April 1, 2024 at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors.
A service to honor and celebrate Millie's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors, located at 2025 W. University  Dr. Denton, Texas 76201.
