Mildred Mae Matthews passed away in Denton, Texas on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. She was born in Jasper County, Missouri on January 17, 1928 to Cecil and Lela Phipps. Mildred married Eugene Matthews in 1961. She enjoyed crocheting, making Christmas stockings for all the grandkids and making homemade cards. She had a passion for genealogy and creating memories in photo albums.

Services will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Central Baptist Church in Denton. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. with funeral services starting at 11:00 A.M.. Mildred will be laid to rest at the DFW National Cemetery at 2:15 P.M. following the funeral.

Mildred is survived by her husband Gene Matthews ,her 6 loving children,17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren
